Sustainable development

Natural resources, beautiful landscape, and cultural heritage are the advantages which enable the people of Gorenjska a high level of living quality, offer them business opportunities, and attract other visitors as well.

In order to preserve the high quality of the area with its activities in the future, BSC Kranj and its partners prepare and implement different projects from the following fields:

  • infrastructural, environmental and spatial development aimed at preserving the natural environment, providing access and energy supply as well as caring for arranged old town centres, squares and villages of Gorenjska;
  • rural development which upgrades three rural development programmes (the areas of Škofja Loka, central and upper Gorenjska), takes measures for setting up connections of  regional processing plants, products and services. Apart from that, it is aimed at active settlement of Gorenjska’s rural areas.
