Support with the preparation and implementation of the Regional Development Programme

In accordance with the powers of the Government Office for Local-Selfgovernment and Regional Policy, BSC Kranj is responsible for preparing and supervising the implementation of the Gorenjska Regional Development Programme 2007-2013. Apart from that, BSC Kranj should prepare and guide the Implementation Plan for the Gorenjska Regional Development Programme for the Period 2007-2013.

Support with the preparation and implementation of the local development programme

With a decision of municipal councils in 2000, the municipalities of Tržič, Cerklje na Gorenjskem, Jezersko, Preddvor, Naklo, Kranj and Šenčur have authorized BSC Kranj to perform the tasks of a local development agency in Gorenjska. Hence, its main responsibilities are:

to connect municipalities, local public and private partners in the central Gorenjska as far as key joint development projects are concerned;
to work on local development and to prepare development programmes of municipalities;
to provide technical assistance to the municipalities with preparing and leading the investment projects;
to inform the municipalities and local partners about current national as well as international calls for applications for the acquisition of additional development funds;
to scheme integrated municipal and inter-municipal projects;
to motivate, set up and develop partnerships as well as project interest groups.

Support with the preparation and implementation of municipal development programmes

BSC Kranj, the Regional Development Agency of Gorenjska has considerable expertise in local environment and the methodology of preparing development projects. Therefore, on behalf of local communities, it prepares municipal development programmes which are aiming at:

activating local potentials and local development partnerships;
defining starting-points and reaching full agreement about the integrated long-term development of a municipality;
preparing project ideas as frameworks for the plans of municipal development programmes and annual municipal budgets;
acquiring technical expertise in order to work out a strategy of spatial development.

In the last three years, BSC Kranj has designed four development strategies of municipalities together with the plans from development programmes:

Development Programme of the Municipality of Preddvor 2001-2006 with elements to 2010,
Development Programme of the Municipality of Naklo 2002-2006 with elements to 2010,
Development Programme of the Municipality of Šenčur 2002-2006 with elements to 2013,
Development Programme of the Municipality of Bled 2007-2013.

Trainings for public sector

For public sector, BSC Kranj organizes different trainings, required for the implementation of the Gorenjska Regional Development Programme 2007 – 2013. Among them are:

Assistance with applying to calls for applications, project development, preparation, implementation and project leading, searching for partners

On behalf of municipalities and other public institutions, BSC offers assistance with the entire “life cycle” of a project: creation, preparation, leading and implementation as well as preparation of project documentation for calls for applications, and search for appropriate project partners.

Help with searching financial sources

On the basis of knowing possible financial sources, both national and European, BSC provides assistance to public sector when searching for financial sources.
